TOSCA – Nashville recording sessions, August 2026
Music was always part of everyday life for TOSCA LEEN. Growing up in Zurich in a family of enthusiastic amateur musicians, she was surrounded by instruments — piano, guitars, drums, strings and percussion. There was always something to play, explore or try out.
She began with drums at six before turning to the violin, which she studied for several years. Her classical training gave her a grounding in harmony, melody and musical structure. But as she grew older, she found herself increasingly drawn to pop and rock, to singing, and above all to writing songs of her own.
Songwriting gave her the freedom to follow her own ideas and explore how people relate to one another. She brings empathy and a clear eye to their hopes and contradictions, including her own. There is room for tenderness, doubt and the humour of recognising yourself in the story.
During her years at Kantonsschule Freudenberg in Zurich, TOSCA LEEN performed with her school band while continuing to write her own songs. Outside school, she spent time in the studio exploring different approaches to songwriting, experimenting with sounds and discovering new possibilities for her music. These experiences helped her develop her own musical voice and a growing sense of independence.
For her musical Matura, she explored stylistic techniques that have influenced listeners for centuries, examining how musical elements shape emotion and perception. She then applied her findings in an original composition, bringing together her own voice, a violin passage she performed herself and a cello part played by her older sister.
After graduating in 2026, TOSCA LEEN began taking full responsibility for her music — from artistic decisions and recording sessions to organizing her work and understanding the rights behind her songs.
From songs to recordings

TOSCA LEEN – Vocal recording, Nashville, August 2026
That summer, she travelled to Nashville to record six of her original songs with a team of experienced session musicians. The sessions offered new perspectives on her songwriting and an opportunity to explore different musical possibilities.
Her first releases are planned for 2027, independently through TOSCA Music GmbH. Each song will have its own story to tell.
